What is the difference between Nylon and Neoprene kids life jackets?
We offer both options to suit different needs: Neoprene Life Jackets—Made from premium neoprene, providing natural insulation for warmth in cooler water. Offers a snug, form-fitting design that moves with the body. Ideal for surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and active water sports. Usually higher priced due to material quality. Nylon Life Jackets—Made from lightweight, durable nylon with a soft inner lining and high-buoyancy EPE foam. Quick-drying and more budget-friendly. Ideal for recreational swimming, boating, and summer camps. Both styles feature adjustable straps, crotch straps, and front zippers for a secure fit. This comparison helps you choose based on your target customers' primary water activities and price sensitivity.

How do you ensure children's life jackets and puddle jumpers are safe enough?
Child safety is our top priority. Our children's life jackets and puddle jumpers are designed with multiple safety features: Small-Part Safety—All components are securely attached to prevent choking hazards. Phthalate-Free & Non-Toxic—Materials are OEKO-TEX® certified and free from harmful chemicals. Enhanced Buoyancy—Flotation is rated for the child's weight range with a higher safety margin. Crotch Straps—Prevent the vest from riding up and ensure a secure, non-slip fit. Adjustable Buckles—Allow for a snug, customized fit as children grow. We conduct rigorous in-house testing and provide third-party test reports to confirm compliance with USCG, CE, and ISO standards.
3
What international safety certifications do your life jackets hold?
Our life jackets are manufactured to meet stringent international safety standards. We hold certifications including ISO 12402 (European standard for PFDs), USCG (U.S. Coast Guard) approval, CE certification for the European market, and EN 13138 for swimming aids. For children's products, we also comply with CPSIA (U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) requirements. We can provide certification copies, approval numbers, and test reports for your review. Different certifications apply to different markets—please let us know your target region so we can ensure compliance.

What is a neoprene life jacket and why is it important?
A neoprene life jacket is a personal flotation device made from premium-grade neoprene, offering both buoyancy and thermal insulation. Unlike traditional nylon vests, neoprene life jackets provide a snug, form-fitting design that moves with the body, making them ideal for active water sports like surfing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The natural insulating properties keep wearers warm in cooler waters, while the soft, skin-friendly material prevents chafing during extended wear. Our custom neoprene life jackets are available for both kids and adults, combining safety, comfort, and style for recreational boaters, anglers, and watersports enthusiasts.

Are Float Swimsuits considered life jackets or swimming aids?

Float Swimsuits are classified as swimming aids, not life jackets. At we (Libra Neoprene), we clearly distinguish between the two based on their design, function, and intended use:

  • Float Swimsuit (Swimming Aid) — Designed to provide gentle flotation support to help children learn to swim and build water confidence. It is a learn-to-swim tool that allows children to practice kicking, paddling, and balancing while being supported. Float Swimsuits are not designed to turn an unconscious child face-up in the water. Active adult supervision is always required when children are wearing float swimsuits.

  • Life Jacket (Personal Flotation Device) — Designed for safety and rescue, with higher buoyancy to turn an unconscious person face-up in the water. Life jackets are intended for boating, sailing, and open-water activities where the primary purpose is emergency flotation, not swim training.

Key differences in design and purpose:

Feature Float Swimsuit (Swimming Aid) Life Jacket (PFD)
Primary Purpose Learn-to-swim, water confidence, skill development Safety, emergency flotation, rescue
Buoyancy Level Gentle flotation (supports but does not restrict movement) Higher buoyancy (designed to turn unconscious wearer face-up)
Design Low-profile, seamless foam inserts integrated into swimwear Bulkier, vest-style with straps, buckles, and higher foam volume
Freedom of Movement Maximum — allows full range of motion for kicking, paddling, and swimming Limited — more restrictive for safety
Use Case Swim lessons, pool play, beach outings with adult supervision Boating, sailing, kayaking, open-water activities
Supervision Required Yes — always under active adult supervision Yes — but designed to provide flotation even if wearer is unconscious

Our Float Swimsuits are specifically designed for learn-to-swim programs, swim schools, and parents who want to help their children develop water confidence and swimming skills progressively. With our removable foam insert system, children can start with full flotation support and gradually transition to independent swimming as their skills improve.

At we (Libra Neoprene), we recommend that Float Swimsuits always be used under active adult supervision and as part of a structured learn-to-swim program. They are not a substitute for life jackets in boating or open-water situations where emergency flotation is required.
